Dear community,
right now my FreeNAS is crashed and then won't start anymore.

During boot it hangs here:
Code:
GEOM: da0S1: Geometry does not match label (16h,63s != 255h,63c)
GEOM: da0S2: Geometry does not match label (16h,63s != 255h,63c)
Trying to mount root from ufs:/dev/ufs/FreeNASs2a
WARNING: /data was not properly dismounted
WARNING: /data: mount pending error: Blocks 1064 files 1
md5: /data/freenas_v1.db: Not a directory
.: Can't open /var/tmp/rc.conf.freenas: No such file or directory
Enter full pathname of shell or return for /bin/sh:

Now with return I got the prompt
#

I did fsck command and then thefollowing errors has gone, but still not boot.
WARNING: /data was not properly dismounted
WARNING: /data: mount pending error: Blocks 1064 files 1

Please help, how can I restore the boot?
Thanks
Lucas

That sounds like a bad installation of FreeNAS. Either the installation is corrupted because of how you installed it or the USB stick may be bad.

Wait, this installation runs perfect for about 16 months (I had upgraded FreeNAS 8.3.1), and yes it's installed on USB disk (SSD disk).
So what's next? I have a config backup, do you think the only way is reinstall from scratch?

That's what I'd start with. I'd get a new USB stick, install FreeNAS on it, then recover from the backup config file.

Ok, just a question, since I have to reinstall from scratch, what about installing version 9.1.0?
Are my data (ZFSPool) safe?

Thanks

Are you using jails? If so, you might want to stay with 8.3.1 and then plan your upgrade to 9.1.x. You'll want to read the 9.x doc's about jails, etc.

Nope, for now I'm not using jails. Btw, I installed from scratch 8.3.1, restore the configuration and thenupgrade to 9.1.0 from GUI. It works perfect!
