Just got done doing a fresh install of 9.3 (and updated). This is just a test box for getting used to things and testing.
I have two drives (not same sizes) attached and recognized. In the Volume Manager, I add the two drives but in the volume layout dropdown, I don't see a selection for Mirror like I thought there should be. I'm just wanting to setup 2 drives as a ZFS mirror. What am I missing here?

Did you drag the slider to select both? If that doesn't give the option, post a screenshot of what you're seeing.

The slide bars are moved as far as they will go.

Cancel that, open volume manager and then move the slider. You are creating 2 vdevs, and with only 2 drives it isn't possible.

What Dru said! I missed the fact that they are different size drives.

Okay....so that answers that.
This is only for testing so the actual system will have matching drives in it.
But...for testing purposes, how close do the drives have to be in size in order for FN to allow for the mirror option?

[EDIT} apparently they need to be very close in size, or perfectly matching. I have two new drives attached that are only 4.3Gigs different and it still won't give me the mirror option. Manual setup it is then....
Thanks guys!
