Well i have FreeNAS in virtualbox already running perfectly, but i have a question which i'll explain.
As FreeNAS is running in virtualbox i made a 10GB virtual disk to test, then i went to the page to create a new volume and start using it as storage. But then i saw it would erased and/or reformat the disk... So my question here is;
Will it wipe/reformat just the 10GB virtual disk or the whole 360gb drive partition? That's my only fear and i wouldn't like to mess some things i have in that drive.
My confusion comes when it says "reformat" i understand that as wiping and changing it to ZFS, or will it keep the hard drive with NTFS without touching files outside those dedicated 10gb? Or changing those 10gb to ZFS?
It must be a dumb question but this has driven me crazy haha
Thank you guys!

Unless you're just trying to learn the product (and don't care about actually storing anything) why would you do this? FreeNAS needs direct access to the drives... not a virtual drive.

But, to answer your question, it'll destroy whatever's in the virtual disk.
