Hi, i have Alix 3d2 (no vga), so i use the Freenas over serial cabel. Freenas i have in 2GB CF card. When i try boot freenas so boot end in: Fri Dec 31 16:01:34 PST 1999
Dec 31 16:01:35 freenas getty[2508]: open /dev/ttyv0: No such file or directory
Dec 31 16:01:35 freenas getty[2510]: open /dev/ttyv2: No such file or directory
Dec 31 16:01:35 freenas getty[2511]: open /dev/ttyv3: No such file or directory
Dec 31 16:01:35 freenas getty[2514]: open /dev/ttyv6: No such file or directory
Dec 31 16:01:35 freenas getty[2512]: open /dev/ttyv4: No such file or directory
Dec 31 16:01:35 freenas getty[2513]: open /dev/ttyv5: No such file or directory
Dec 31 16:01:35 freenas getty[2515]: open /dev/ttyv7: No such file or directory
Dec 31 16:01:35 freenas getty[2509]: open /dev/ttyv1: No such file or directory
What should i do? When i boot the CF card in laptop so it is ok, any problem. Thanks

It's not a problem. It's telling you that you don't have a VGA console, but that the system is expecting one. This could be argued to be a bug or a feature.

Thank you very much! But, how i use freenas without VGA? Exists some solution? L.

I would imagine it works pretty much the same. Use the GUI interface to turn on serial console if you want access to the system console. That provides you with a "way in" if you inadvertently screw up the network configuration.

I configured console over GUI running on my laptop. When i trying boot the same on my Alix, console got various characters, but not letters. L.

Sounds like the wrong serial line speed. Try to set your terminal to 38400 baud (worked for me with alix 2d13)
