Hey all

I've been playing around with FreeNAS I've set it up with the following to try

Intel core 2 duo e8600
6gb ddr 2 ( I think it's only using 4gb)
3 5tb hardrives with about 9.8gb of usable storage
16gb USB boot drive

I'm using this for
Plex server
2 time machine backups
2 windows backups (all on daily backups)
Storing Plex media movies tv shows and a iTunes library

I know this isn't the most ideal setup but I just wanted, and I was using stuff I had laying around just wanted try it out and it does work.

I'm wondering if someone could suggest a build that would suit my use case?

Thanks

Have you read the hardware threads? There are 2 in my signature.

You might be a good candidate for an off-the-shelf server, e.g. a Lenovo TS140 or Dell PowerEdge T20.
Hey

Just had a look though eBay don't think they are available in Australia they have them from America but it's like $400 shipping but I'll do a it more research, what if I were to build something similar

Thanks for your help! I'll look at an off the shelf server.
