FreeNAS 9.10 will NOT update

OK. Since I allowed FreeNAS to automatically update my system to 9.10, I can no longer update the system. I get an "
<urlopen error [Errno 8] hostname nor servname provided, or not known>" error. So I need help with resolving this issue without losing all the data on my drives. I am pretty new to FreeNAS, so please take into account that I may not be familiar with all of the intricacies of this awesome software.

Sounds like DNS resolution error. Provide more information about your system and FreeNAS installed version, so the folks here can help.

I second @melloa it sounds like a networking issue and your FreeNAS box can't reach the update servers.

Provide more information about your box as per the forum rules. Also what are your "global" network settings in FreeNAS as viewable from the GUI?
