FreeNas 8.0 unable to detect my HD

I got one IBM storage server X3630M3, i have installed FreeNas 8.0 onto USB thumbdrive.
When i accessing through the GUI, at the storage, under active volumes, i unable to create volume as it unable to see my HD.
I wanted to do softraid for my HD.

total there are 12 x 2TB Sata HD on my storage server.
On the Bios level i created two raid as follow, 6x 2TB as Raid 1, another 6 x 2TB as Raid 1.


Kindly advise what went wrong.

don't create any hardware raids, that's your problem. what controller are the plugged into, have you checked if there are drivers that support it?


and a six way mirror is complete overkill.

Creating two six drive RAID1 arrays that doesn't make it sound like you know what you are doing. From what you told us you have 12 hard drives and lost 10 for redundancy. That makes not sense at all, you went from 24TB to 4TB (before formatting and redundancy/parity).
