I recently upgraded the destination server to TrueNAS Core 12U8 because some new FC card that i added. Before that replication task was working ok for years.
After upgrading, the task failed and the message shown is
Failed: BBD1Z2 (manual-20170706)
I though maybe some snapshot is lost in the chain so i deleted the entire destination dataset and created a new one, configure the replication task like new and start again. Same error.
Its not possible to do the replication task between this versions?

Thanks

I'm having the same error. Is there a guide that shows what needs to be configured on the updated TrueNAS Core 12U8.1 when it is receiving snapshots from FreeNAS 11.1?

Its seems to be a compatibility issue with older freenas versions, maybe only because different auto-generation snapshots name, but the only way I could find to resolve it is to upgrade the source system to freenas 11.3

Found this and it worked for my FreeNAS 11.1 machine and it is currently now replicating to TrueNAS Core 12.8.x.

Evidently there's a pretty simple fix:

I added this to the TrueNAS 12.8.x target machine:

ln -s /usr/local/sbin/zfs /sbin/zfs
