FreeNAS -> Help & Support -> Storage:
I have a fresh FreeNAS 11.2 installation and have created a pool. I would like to create datasets -- some shared, others not. The web UI Storage -> Pools -> Add Dataset offers three choices for Share Type: Unix, Windows, and Mac. Is there a way to use the web UI to create datasets that are not shared?
David
p.s. In the past, I have managed ZFS datasets, Samba shares, and NFS shares via command line tools and system configuration files. These are separate and distinct sub-systems. Why does FreeNAS conflate them on one web UI page?
