Hello everyone,

Just letting you know, if there is anyone here that has been stuck using FreeNAS because they mistakenly upgraded their zpool to use spacemap_histogram and can now no longer migrate their pool to another OS, i.e. FreeBSD, have no fear! You can install FreeBSD 11.0 Head/Current and it solves the below issue.

root@Galaxy:/home/ub3r # zpool import Galaxy
This pool uses the following feature(s) not supported by this system:
com.delphix:spacemap_histogram (Spacemaps maintain space histograms.)
All unsupported features are only required for writing to the pool.
The pool can be imported using '-o readonly=on'.
cannot import 'Galaxy': unsupported version or feature

That's pretty risky code to be using..... FreeBSD 11!? 10 just hit release status a few weeks ago.

No offense, but I'd a risky FreeBSD build any day.

My needs have surpassed using my server for a simple FreeNAS box which it was designed for (and FreeNAS did very well). I've been bashing my head against the wall trying to get ports installed on FreeNAS but at the end of the day just doesn't work. I decided to move to FreeBSD this morning and ran into this issue. I emailed the dev team and they suggested installing the head/cur version (11.0) to solve the issue. I'm enjoying installing ports without troubleshooting 900 errors for each dependency. :)
