Hi Everyone,
I am completely out of my league on this one. I have a computer that I was using as a file server (5 hard drives) that someone configured using the free Nas system. This sytem makes no sense to me and I cannot figure out how to get my files off of these drives. The drives have all been pulled out of the tower, but I am at a loss. These are important files that I need access to. Is there anyway to get access to them?

Thank yoU!!

How about putting the drives back in the file server tower and booting it.

You've given no information about how you know it's set up using FreeNAS, what version you're running, etc. In general, if the drives were formatted ZFS and/or in some type of RAID type that spreads data across drives, you can't just throw one in a system and start copying data. And if you're trying to use a Windows system to copy the data, it's likely not going to recognize any of the possible file systems.

Slow down and learn what you have before you start pulling things apart.
