Hello,

I am looking to build a FreeNAS server as a backup to replace my old NAS.

Will be running ZFS-2

Intel R2308WFTZSR chassis
Intel Xeon Silver 4110 - 8 Core Processor, 11M Cache, 2.10 GHz
8 x Western Digital Ultrastar DC HC310 Enterprise STATA 7.2k 4TB
Intel remote management module 4
4 x Cruical 16GB DDR4-2933Mhz ECC CAS 21
Intel Server Board S2600WFTR
Dual 10 GbE LAN
2 x Intel DC SSD S4510 2.5" SATA 240Gb (Boot Drives)

I know this is a bit over kill on the boot drives but it's lowest capacity I could find.

I also assume there is no need for a Integrated RAID Module, I can just plug into the boards SATA ports?

in case it should only be a backup and no jails/vms are running, it is far beyond what is required from my point of view.

check out my backup system in signature. apart from the disks i spent less than 300 USD for it and it does the job.
