I setup FC for ESXi back in 9.10 with a QLogic QLE2462 adapter as per the guide on here and all has been working well until I upgraded to 11 where I've ran into a very annoying and hard to pin down crash/kernel panic.

It's very random occuring, for example freenas had been up for over 40 days this time before it randomly reset on me this morning, as you can imagine this is pretty catastrophic from a VM perspective and I imagine 50% of the VMs will need restoring from backup due to corruption when I fire it back up again.

When it happens I will find freenas stuck in a boot loop where it begins to load the isp driver with the scrolling message in the screenshot i've attached.

I loathe to go back to 1GB iSCSI but I may have to at this point as this is probably the third/fourth time this has happened since upgrade to 11 and with the sporadic randomness of it all it's very difficult to trust the storage going forward.

Has anyone ran into this before/yet? Any pointers anyone can give, i'm set on trying something to try and solve this rather than just starting back up again this time as I know it will just happen again unfortunately.

FreeNAS is E3-1230v3 on a X10SLF-H with 32GB of Samsung ECC that memtests just fine so i'm pretty confident it's not the hardware directly and i've swapped the FC card for another which has made no difference.

From a broader perspective, if your setup was rock solid in 9.10. Why continue with FN 11 when it's crashing? There are no truly compelling differences between FN 9.10.2-U6 and FN 11 that would force me to put up with an unstable system. If I were you, I'd file a bug report along with a debug dump, and boot back into FN 9.10 to regain stability. Let the devs sort it out. ;)

Unfortunately i've upgraded my pools and no longer have the 9.10 boot environment either :(

Bug request incoming and back to iSCSI I think.

9.10 can work with upgraded pools as long as you're not actually using the new features (skein and SHA512 checksums), which you definitely aren't unless you manually enabled them.
