Hi all, initially wanting to move from nas4free to freenas due to good review and moving on from just file storage. now ive made the change and mostly impressed, i have a couple of questions/features that im missing. and wondering if there is plugins/addons/etc that can be added?

Firstly is there a way to view the system logs/messages via a webgui?

Is there a way to view live system temperatures and/or fan speeds from CPU, HDD, etc There is an extended-gui on nas4free which I found helpful, is there anything similar on freenas?

By default, the last few lines of the system log are shown at the bottom of the web GUI window. If you click on that, it will expand. If you don't see them, check the box for "Show console messages in footer" at System -> Advanced.

Not really. If you've configured SMART correctly, FreeNAS will alert you when a drive gets too hot, but there's no GUI way to just watch temps. @Bidule0hm has come up with some scripts to email this information periodically though.

Ok thanks danb35. I see the show console at the bottom now. I think this will be enough. If I need more log info I can view the files I guess.

I know some dont need the cpu and hdd temps in "live view". I just feel it's handy to peak at it when you know something demanding is happening. For me, the time taken for my emails to be generated then received is likely to be an 1hr or more. More due to locations and getting mobile reception than anything else.

Another questions. How can I configure the incomplete download folder(or temp download location) and it's completed download locations for transmission plugin?
