hi folks

my home nas in using a hp microserver has been working since install 6 months ago

then the other day I got this email

pool: freenas-boot
state: DEGRADED
status: One or more devices has experienced an error resulting in data
corruption. Applications may be affected.
action: Restore the file in question if possible. Otherwise restore the
entire pool from backup.
see: http://illumos.org/msg/ZFS-8000-8A

sods law a power cut today dropped the box and now the usb is not bootable so guess the two are connected

I'm reloading a fresh USB now and looking at the docs should be able to use the import disks
just wondering about my plugins especially owncloud will I need to install these from scratch? as not 100% sure I know which share I put them on

It seems in my rush to back up forgot to back up my freenas install how can I best protect against this in the future ?

For the jails, you can use Jails -> Configuration to point to the dataset that holds your jails.

For the future, make sure you have a saved copy of your latest config. You can also mirror the boot pool if your system supports 2 USB sticks.
