Hello,

I'm running TrueNAS Scale on a simple selfbuild server.

Hardware:
- 1x nvme (TrueNAS OS)
- 1x 512GB SSD (Cache)
- 1x 512GB SSD (Virtual Machines)
- 1x 512GB SSD (VM Backups)
- 1x 2TB WD Purple (CCTV Storage)
- 3x 2TB HDD (Raidz, data storage)
- MSI H510S Pro Wifi
- SAS HBA for connecting the drives
- 24GB DDR4 RAM

Installed:
- Ubuntu VM with Shinobi
- Home Assistant (Original app)
- Nextcloud (Original app)

When I reboot my machine, everything is gone. There are no VM's, no applications installed, all pools are gone (but I can import them), all users are gone and settings (like timezone, S.M.A.R.T checks and SMB enabled) are back to default.

It happend me 3 times and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Notes:
- Not all drives are connected to the HBA, only the HDD's.
- Not after every reboot my data is gone.
- GRUB asks if I want to boot Truenas or Truenas in recovery mode after every reboot.

How are you rebooting? Are you using the GUI, or are you running shutdown -r now?

The reboot / shutdown button in the GUI

It's not normal for TrueNAS.

Its likely to be an incompatibility with either

1. Boot SSD.. what is it?
2. system and its BIOS.... what are they?

I have also heard that TrueNAS SCALE can be a bit slower to come up.

How long did you wait before determining that your NAS was not starting everything?

Sounds like the pool isn't able to import automatically. Can you please make a bug ticket and send along a debug file so we can investigate?

Minor detail: I've to connect a keyboard and press enter in order to boot the machine

I think I understand the issue.

There are 2 Boot Environments.
"Initial Install" and "22.12.1". When 22.12.1 is enabled, everything is gone after a reboot.
When I switch it back to "Initial-install" and reboot, the vm's are back.
