Error Logs

I read another post that suggested someone check /var/logs for errors. Being curious, I went there to check it out. I've got dozens of files. Is there a way to identify actual error messages other than reading through every file?

/var/log/messages typically is the one you need.

Thanks. I checked the output of messages (as opposed to messages.***) and these were the major things that stood out:

Feb 23 13:05:54 FreeNAS kernel: ifa_maintain_loopback_route: deletion failed for interface lo0: 48

Aside from that, I continue to see the "freenas_health" warning that started with U1, guess I could take the time to fix that bug.
