I've searched the forums and documentation and have been unable to find an official, safe & well tested/robust step-by-step guide for reinstalling TrueNAS SCALE boot drive from scratch on a system that has encrypted storage pools.
Is there a tried and tested procedure please? So far I have:
1. Exported the configuration from the 'System Settings' -> 'General' -> 'Manage Configuration' menu, including ticking the 'export secret seed' box
2. Downloaded the dataset keys for my two encrypted datasets from the 'Export Dataset Keys' option in the storage tab
It's unclear what to safely do next.
What other tasks must be completed, and data exported/saved, before reinstallation and re-importing the encrypted pools? (Any other passphrases, keys etc?)
Is there a way to test my exported dataset keys will work before I wipe the boot drives?
Must you export or disconnect the storage pools before shutdown?
