email setup insists about "No e-mail address"

I've just installed Truenas Scale and configured the Email in Alerts (I think the link to the setting should also appear in System settings IMHO)

I've tried setting it either to GMail or to my local SMTP server. It saves the configuration, but when I try clicking on "Send Test Mail", I'm getting the message "No e-mail address is set for root user or any other local administrator. Please, configure such an email address first."

After playing with the settings, it seems that the way to setup the email address - is within the "admin" user. Adding the email to the root user, for example - does not help.

So, my question, UI wise - could the team add a line which the user will fill his/her/their email address - in the mail server configuration page?

Sounds like you're trying to report a bug... there's a link for that at the top of the page.

I had the same problem. Solution: set an email address for the admin local user (which you can get), this will be the target address of system messages.
