Does 8.0.2 support UPNP?

Hi All,

I just installed FreeNAS and want to setup UPNP. I found some guide online but they are for older version. The version 8.0.2 I have doesn't have UPNP service at all. I saw the official website is talking about put UPNP support on version 8.2. I'm confused, did FreeNAS support UPNP in old version and later on removed that feature?

Hi Lou,

You read correctly, it does not support UPnP yet.

The FreeNAS™ 8 series represents an entire rewrite from the .7 series of FreeNAS™. In other words, FreeNAS™ was rewritten from scratch and features were added as the new base stabilized. This means that not every feature in the .7 series was re-implemented and some features that are not available in FreeNAS™ .7 are available in FreeNAS™ 8.x.
