Just installed Truenas scale 22.12.3.2.
pi-hole is reporting dns requests to ix-truenas every 10 seconds, easily becoming the top dns client in network. Misconfiguration?
I did see this post, but it was related to Core from 2020.

It's Kubernetics, you have to add ix-truenas to your hostname database, i have 2 rules 127.0.0.1 ix-truenas and 127.0.0.1 truenas.com.
Do it from the web-ui not shell, network-global configuration-host name database.
the spam will stop

Thanks @dgrigo I observed 6 request per minute until 10AM yesterday. Then it decreased to 3 requests per minute until 23:10. Then it ramped up to 12 requests per minute, and hasn’t dropped since then. I added the hostname addresses around 21:00. All times PST.

Can you please file a bug ticket with a debug attached? We need to determine why this is occuring, if there's some specific set of configuration or apps which is driving this behavior.

I'm having similar issues, but running Core 13.0-U5.3, and this is being observed in Adguard.

Under Global Configuration, where should the loopback IP address be entered?

I was able to identify a few older posts on Reddit, and have added this to the Global Configuration:

After entering that, I'm still seeing the similar level of DNS query volume to domains update.freenas.org, update.ixsystems.com, update-master.ixsystems.com
