I ran a rsync to move some files around within the server running Scale 23.10.1. After it finished I see some messages pop up.

I see sdf and sdc have errors. So I checked Storage>Disks>SMART Test Results for those drives and see they failed Extended offline tests

I then check a app I have called Scrutiny and it shows sdf is fine, but sda and sdb have failed? In SMART test results sda and sdb have passed all tests.

Please advise.

Thank you

sda and sdb look to be seagate drives, I believe I read seagate drives have a bug that falsely reports smart tests incorrectly? Any one else heard this?

You might be thinking of the bizarre encoding used for some SMART parameters, which encodes a pair of values in a single register, and then they're in log scale to make the whole thing even less readable - or something to that effect.
