Disable CIFS not working

I just installed FreeNAS (FreeNAS-9.2.1.5-RELEASE-x64) and setup a CIFS share. I had trouble connecting this to my Mac so removed it and used AFP which is working fine. There are no CIFS shares now but when I try to disable the CIFS service, it tells me "the service could not be stopped". Any idea how to stop it?
