And therefore is not listed as a device..
I thought I was having hardware problems so I booted it with a live CD of a ubuntu variant. Lpt0 showed up and I could print to the printer connected. I re-booted back to Freenas 9.3 (FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201503200528) and still no /dev/lptx. Is this just odd hardware? Previously with a flavor of 9.2, the parallel port showed up, but no longer.
I am trying to complete the setup of a print server and have an old but sturdy HP Laserjet which works 'just fine' that I'd like to connect.
My dev list:
# ls /dev

ad6p1.eli@ audit devstat kbd1@ pts/ ttyv8 ugen4.2@
ad6p2@ bpf dtrace/ kbdmux0 random ttyv9 urandom@
We go right from /dev/kmem to /dev/mdctl.
Hardware is a Dell 390 workstation.
Any thoughts?
