Deleting files won't create space

I've deleted a bunch of files, and re-added new files with the same filename etc, but the size of the volume's space is decreasing as if the original files never got deleted even though I deleted it. Why's that?

You might have setup the system to have a recycle bin, which is possible, that would also prevent deleting files from freeing space.

I use snapshots, could that be it? I have always disabled the recycle bin so I don't think that could be it

Yes, it most definitely would.

The files are still in the snapshots. Delete the relevant snapshots to regain the space.

OK, I have it set to expire after 2 weeks, that should be good enough hehe
