Hi All,

is there any way to add a custom menu to the GUI? I would like to add some links to the menu. Couldn't find anything related when searching the forum...

Thanks, Martin

No, but I'm curious as to what you'd like to add.

For me it would be fine to have a XML file for example where i can add a custom menu. Of course it would be a nice-to.have if the custom menu can be edited in the FreeNAS GUI. Will suggest a feature maybe someone is also interested in this feature.

This kind of thing will be possible in FreeNAS 10.

If you feel comfortable doing this, you could edit the original html files, although I have never done it personally. I'm going from memory, but they should be under /usr/local/www

Not a good idea. The FreeNAS 8/9 GUI is not the friendliest of codebases, it's intertwined with python and shell scripts...

And any changes would not survive an update.
