creating folders

SHould i be creating datasets for new folders on my NAS? If i make a folder in the freenas share on my windows machine it dosent show up under the storage tab in the freenas gui.

It's not required

The GUI only shows the physical storage devices and the virtual devices like datasets, the TOP level stuff. Folders that are managed from outside the GUI don't fall into that category.
