Hi,

We have FreeNAS 11 installed and running on a usb stick and would like to keep a separate stick available if the original one was to fail. Whats the best practice for doing this?

Thanks
Brenden

Don't. Keep a backup of your config file instead. If/when your boot device fails, do a clean install to a new device, upload your saved config, and you're set.

Alternatively, add a second USB stick as a mirror of the first--you can do that through the GUI.

Yet another alternative (and probably the best), ditch the USB sticks entirely and use a small SSD or SATA DOM instead as the boot device.

Hi,

Thank you for your message, think we'll back up the config files, any ideas where you go in the consul to do the backup of the config files?

Thanks
Brenden
