With so little information to go on, the best answer is "the same way you do on the first machine".

What operating system is your new computer running? What kind of share have you configured on your TrueNAS? How do you access your TrueNAS from your first computer? Are all three computers connected to the same network? If not what precisely does your network look like?

@alfred3

1. Current and new laptop OS and version? (Windows, MacOS, Linux, etc.)
2. Current and new laptop connectivity? (LAN, WiFi, etc.)
3. How is your NAS connected to your network? (Router, switch, directly to your laptop via LAN connection, etc.)
4. Do you have a router with WiFi connectivity and extra LAN ports?
5. A little background on your TrueNAS HW config and which version of TrueNAS?
6. Did someone else set up the NAS for you and you did it yourself?

Then just type the same on your new laptop - why don't you but come to the forum to ask?

SMB will not allow the use of the root account (user) for connection to a share today. You need to use another user account to make this connection.

Correct, but then it cannot possibly work with the first laptop, either ...?

@alfred3 Are you possibly trying to connect as a guest user first? And is your first laptop something older than Windows 10? Windows 10 does not allow the use of guest connections, anymore.

And all of this information would have belonged into your first post.

Like so:

I am trying to connect to my TrueNAS version X from my new Windows 10 laptop like so: \\192.168. ... and I get this dialog box - please see screen shot.

How the heck are we supposed to know any of what you are actually doing?
