Hello,
I've been a long time user, long time lurker and don't want to get flamed here. I love Freenas and follow the upgrades carefully. I just want to be sure I'm not alone, or raise a flag, or get some advice.
Lately I've been caught in a pinch though because Samba was rock solid forever and now even with the latest release it's super flaky. I think it started with 9.2.x.x. Windows will show me my UNC names, and even allow me to copy some files, but not others... it usually hangs there for several minutes, sometimes seconds and even drops connections. Zero changes to my environment except the 9.2.1.3 GUI Upgrade. Simple set up, AMD E-240 processor, 8 Gigs of RAM ZFS Raid 5 (3 drives) and one flat backup drive.
I'm not a complainer, love this stuff, but I see a lot of CIFS/Samba issues lately and wanted to point out the 9.2.x releases have made it virtually unusable in recent weeks. Maybe it's just me and I'm open to advice. I must say though, I've been running it since 8.x and have had no issues.
Should I start a fresh install of 9.2.1.3 instead of an upgrade perhaps?
Thanks
Rich.
