For all you people still using a pen drive to boot with or those looking to do a new install (like me), there is no excuse not to use an SSD. I just bought 2 of these on ebay and he has more. For $5 each and shipping you can't go wrong but offer $4 and he should take it and gives a discount on shipping too. So for under $12 you can do a mirrored SSD boot and toss those pen drives back in your drawer.

The 2 I got have zero hours, 3 power cycles and pass a long SMART test.

(I was trying to figure out the best place for this post and this seemed like it. If it isn't please move it to where ever you want)

There's still the potential for a lack of SATA ports, but yes, even new SSDs can be had for very little. If you have the SATA port(s) available, I'd recommend using an SSD setup.

For $4 I didn't expect it to be the fastest SSD I've seen but it isn't bad. Averaging about 320MB/s for read and write on HD Tune Pro

It seems that these were made by or for NCR from what I've found out.

According to my research, Avant makes SSDs for just about everyone except the top brands (Samsung, IBM...)
