Hey everyone. Changed my private network from the classical 192.168.1.0/24 to something less vulnerable. Lets say its now 10.1.1.0/24 for simplicitys sake. All my network has been transfered (around 50 DHCP reservations, all critical for my business running next door) during the night except I could not access the NAS then.

Router is a R7000 using DD-WRT, the previous router had reached its limits.

Now.... How do I access my NAS (TrueNas 13) to change my network settings? It doesnt appear anywhere so my guess is that TrueNAS has self-assigned its old IP (192.168.1.150) and my router now doesnt see it? Do I have to get up there and hook up a screen, mouse and KB ot get stuff done or could I still access it via my router?

Youll do it from the NAS terminal itself. By this i mean a keyboard and monitor connected directly to the machine the NAS runs on.

I mean by this to change the IP settings to your new network i.e. 10.x.x.x. Youll also need to change drive mappings etc..

I figured it was the way to go. Was too lazy to try out before I asked - also worried I would be stuck somewhere along the path to victory. Doesnt seem too complicated (yet) :D

Thanks for the help

I’d love to see some reference material on which IP prefixes are more vulnerable than others.
