I have a Freenas system version 11.1-U7. It was setup before my time. There are two volumes, V1 and V2. V1 was set up with Permission Type of Windows. V2 was setup as permission type of Unix. There does not appear to be any reason why beyond it just happened that way. I would like to change V2 to Windows as I have some permission issues and I can't set them in Windows like I can on V1.
I have read various threads and support notes on the Internet and it seems like changing the V2 Permission Type from Unix to Windows is not an advisable method of fixing this issue. My question is: Is this still the case for version 11.1?. Other options are perhaps tricky because this is a daily production server, 80+ percent full and there is about 150TB of data. Never the less I need to figure out the "correct" way before plunging into this.
