Can't wipe a disk, why?

I used one disk to create a stripe or whatever it's called and now I can't wipe it.

[MiddlewareError: Failed to wipe da0p1: dd: /dev/da0p1: Operation not permitted
]

How do I wipe a drive?

Have you destroyed the zpool first?
