I'm tying to update to the latest stable release from my current vesion FreeNAS-9.2.1.9-RELEASE-x64 but I am getting "an error occured!". Where are the logs that would tell me what error has occurred?

Thanks,

Jeremy

The footer should give you a clue. Also the footer will be mirrored from /var/log/messages.

What's your system specs? I'm betting your hardware is somehow deficient so it's failing.

The footer says says it's uploading and then it error's out at about 95%. I then get the "an error occurred!" error up top on the header.

Oddly I do not see a "messages" directory in /var/log/.

I recently upgrading my prior Freenas build which was from left-over parts. Below is my current build.

SuperMicro X10SLM+-F
Cruicial ECC Memory 16GB (2 x 8GB)
i3 4330

What was your old hardware? I'm wondering if some remnant is sticking around...

Ultimately, if you can't get it to update and want to just circumvent the whole problem, just save your config file, do an install from ISO, then upload your config file. Like magic you'll be on 9.3 and everything will be just like you had done the upgrade. ;)

What is the size of the boot device and how many saved boot environments are there?

Thanks for the help guys. I did what cyberjock suggested and backed up my configuration and installed from the latest ISO and all is good.
