I installed ruby-gems2.1 without any problems, but running a simple gem install gives this error:
Code:
Updating installed gems
ERROR: While executing gem ... (SocketError)
getaddrinfo: hostname nor servname provided, or not known

I googled and found some references to security.jail.socket_unixiproute_only, which is set to 1 both on host and jail. On the host I can change it, but not on the jail. (Which makes sense)
Anyway, changing it on the host didn't work. Help?

Does this jail have its own VIMAGE? i.e., when you created the jail, was "VIMAGE" checked?

It's certainly checked now. It's listed as a normal pluginjail. But I created it at least a year ago, so I can't remember really. It's not used as a pluginjail, it's used as a sort of catch-all for tons of different software that isn't available in plugin for, or at least wasn't available then. Plex, NZBGet, transmission - which I could never get to work as a plugin and some random stuff.

Just out of curiosity, go ahead and uncheck VIMAGE for the jail. See if the problem persists.

I mean, these are just Hail Mary passes. No one else seems to be helping you, and so I'm taking fairly wild guesses, since we are outside of my usual comfort zone.

The NAT setting below seems like it should have more to do with it...? I mean, vimage is vt-stuff, isn't it?

Oh well, trying. I assume you'd want me to restart the jail first. Oh that did NOT work. Undowing asap!
