I have a number of encrypted volumes I import/export regularly for offsite backups. Been doing it this way for literally years.
I just upgraded from 11.1 to 11.2-U8 with none of the encypted volumes connected.
Upgrade seems to have went fine.
When I try to import the 'pool' using the new GUI, it just hangs at 'Decrypting'
If I switch to the legacy GUI and import a 'volume' using the same geli-recovery.key it works fine.
As I understand it, the geli-recovery.key has no passphrase - I've been using the -recovery keys for a long time now without issue.
There's a lot of similar but not quite the same posts on the forums, I can't determine if there's a common cause of problems or it's mostly confusion around geli.key vs geli-recovery.key
