the system begins to boot up but stays stuck in the menu. a picture will be attached as to where it stays locked on
You mean you didn't see the constant suggestion to not use gaming hardware.i didn't see anything in the hardware guides but i see someone else have the same issue as me same error code and boot and they got this error going from 9.3 to 9.10 so its odd.

Which error code? All that was mentioned was being "stuck in the menu" and not even which menu. Help us help you by providing precise details.
Hey sorry I've been trying to upload the picture off the boot error I am getting put it hasn't let me yet I will try again.
it doesn't continue to boot if i wait"Stuck" but continues after ctrl-C makes me think it's a timeout. Is it attached to a network with a DHCP server? Does it continue booting if you wait for a minute or so?
See also this thread here in the same subforum and the bug report mentioned there:

Obviously FreeNAS 9.10.x (FreeBSD 10.3) is not able to boot on Kaby Lake systems.
I am more lost than ever. The first one is waiting at the console menu. Can you type things? If so, it is working.
The second is stopping somewhere after NTPD startup. Press ctrl-T and see if it shows anything.
