Hello,

I want to change permissions so the domain admin and account of choice can be viewed in the drop downs of the permissions for the volume. However there is no option for that and the domain is set to the domain on Active Directory. How do I connect to the domain accounts so they can use the volumes

Are you not seeing any domain accounts at all? Or just not the domain admin account? Also, which build version of FreeNAS (System -> Information)?

Click on the Shell icon and type each command. If you don't get anything back, you're not connected to the domain. Otherwise, you should see a list of groups (-g) or users (-u).

Where is this shell icon? Also I rebuilt active directory service cache so that might have something to do with it

Hi, dlavigne, I also am experiencing the same problem. Using wbinfo -u or -g does populate but does not autocomplete or show up in the permissions fields. Do you have any suggestions to try?

To clarify, you're not seeing associates users/groups if you start to type in their names? If so, which build version of FreeNAS (System -> Information)?

Correct, when I select a dataset and choose change permissions. In the fields where Owner and group are, when I start typing for example administrator for domain admin or even my AD username it does not complete and also says its not a valid user. On 9.10.2-U5

There's been a lot of SMB fixes since that version. Are you able to test your configuration on the latest 11.0 (or wait til next week and try on 11.1)?
