My freenas 9.3-STABLE-201503022158 was running perfectly. I was using it as a plex media server. I'd download the files on my Windows PC and copy them to the respective folders on the Freenas, Movies or TV.

Then the power goes out and the Freenas boots to a different IP address, now I can no longer copy files to Movies or TV. Is there a simple solution for this? Probably not i thought so I am trying to do a fresh install of the freenas OS while importing the drives as i don't want to lose the data there. Is there a tutorial on how to reset up my Freenas to the way it was while importing the drives and not starting fresh.

Well, if the changing IP address is the issue, why not just make it static? You could make a DHCP reservation on your router so it always gets the same address. As for a fresh install, just save the confg and you can reinstall freenas then import the config.

What is the new address? Can you access the web GUI via that address?

Can you access the console of the freenas? You can change the ip address using that menu.

the old address was 192.168.1.144, now it is 192.168.1.143. I can access the Freenas via GUI and make adjustments. I can see my files (movies and TV) but I still can't add files to the folder I get a permissions error.

how about fix your permission problem. What protocol are you using, what are the permission on your dataset you are sharing. What user are you authenticating with and what are your share settings?

My Media share has default permissions and allow Guest Access. I added a user that is the same name as the windows computer name and I've tried with both passwords and disable password login. I don't understand the question what protocol.

Don't 'disable password login' that makes the user not able to login. If you want access to your data and you want to use guest access then do this. I'm not sure you know what you have done so you need to tell use what you want to do or just follow these steps to configure password less guest access. If you are using jails or anything fancy these steps will probably break your other settings.

1. Cifs share configure to allow guest access and use guest access only
2. change your dataset owner and group to be nobody and nogroup and set permissions recursively.
3. reboot your client computer
4. connect without a password and it should just work.

If you had to put a password in then you didn't check the box for guest access only in the cifs share.
