Can't connect to SMB server with hostname.

I would like to connect to the server using it's hostname just in case the up is changed (I can not control this). I can access it with the up address but not using the hostname.

I'm assuming you're referring to the IP address? You can restart the SMB service in the UI, or you can restart the wsdd service from the command line service wsdd oneretsart.
