I got a Mellanox ConnectX-2 installed in my FreeNAS machine and one in my PC all connected through an Arista DCS-7050QX-32-R switch. I set it up in FreeNAS with IP 192.168.1.50 and Netmask 24(255.255.255.0) and I bound my share to this connection but I am unable to establish a connection either in Windows or with the WebUI on the IP I setup.

You can ping that new IP? Can FreeNAS ping your client? What's the output of netstat -na?

I think the issue is that my switch has to be configured first. It has to be connected to a PC via a serial port which my PC does not have but my FreeNAS server does have. Any idea on how I can configure my switch on my FreeNAS box?

From the instruction manual.

You are correct that it will need either a com cable or you will need to set up so it can get an auto config file before you will be able to make it do much.

https://eos.arista.com/ztp-set-up-guide/ can maybe help you set up things so that the switch will allow you to access the management port via ethernet or get it configured. Otherwise for right now it's basically a brick.

So I got my switch all setup but I can't get Windows to see my share on the 10g network.

The switch is setup with a default IP (gateway) of 192.168.1.200. The IP I assigned to the 10g NIC on FreeNAS is 192.168.1.50 with a subnet of /24(255.255.255.0).

Since I can't have a different default gateway for each NIC (which seems dumb) I set the global gateway as 192.168.1.200. FreeNAS is still connected through my router and has no problem sharing on the 1G NIC (192.168.0.90/24) regardless of what changes I make to the gateway.

When I tried to copy files using the 1G NIC, the speed went back to 30MB/s

My switch is an Arista DCS-7050QX-32. Any idea?

I would honestly disable the slower NIC and use only the 10G to get it working. While you CAN make it work with two it is a literal PITA to do from what I have went over.
