Hello,
I just configured my freenas, and followed this explanation of the permissions,
https://forums.freenas.org/index.ph...-permissions-set-up-example-for-dummies.8894/
I've got 2 users, with each a dataset, and one extra dataset for both of them.
my problem is that user 1 can see and execute everything from user 2, and the other way around, the only thing they can't do to each other is write.
Now, I see where i can change this, but every time, I uncheck all 3 boxes of other, I save, and when I check again, 2 of the 3 boxes are checked again. I can't seem to change them.
Any help?

thanks!

That guide is 4 years old...

Are you using Unix or Windows permissions? If Windows, it won't let you change those boxes as it clobbers ACLs. Instead, modify the permissions from a Windows client.

Hey, thanks for the response,

I know about the fact that it was old, but it's still pinned on top like its the one you should use...
I'm using windows share, because I wanted to use cifs shares.
Is this neccesaryy? or can I use mac or unix permissions and than a cifs share?
what would you mean by modifying then from a windows client?
thanks!

Yes!
I tried to install freenas, and so it appeared that freenas does see all disks, but bios and windows don't!
so no problem for me,
thanks for the help everyone!
