Cant access internet after OpenVPN install, what am I missing?

So I have set up OpenVPN in a jail to connect out through PIA that I plan on routing my traffic from a different jail through for torrenting. It is set up in a jail by itself but I have roughly followed GUIDE: Setting up Transmission with OpenVPN and PIA. Once I finish the install I can no longer connect out to the internet from the jail that OpenVPN is installed on but OpenVPN appears to have started properly. This is on a jail with nothing else installed but what is necessary to use OpenVPN . Is there something I'm missing that I need to set up in free now still at the jail connect out? I am using a tun but I haven't set anything up in FreeNAS to let me use it, do I need to do something with the firewall or network?

Seems like the tun device needs to be created on the host as well.

So we would do this from the cli on freenas?
