First of All, Merry Christmas to all at the Forum.

  1. I've had an ongoing problem accessing my AFP shares in finder. When I first try to access them, it says Connection failed. When I select "connect as", it says "not connected". When I try to access via the Connect to Server shortcut (Command k), the msg is "There was a problem connecting to the server "freenas64".
I've attached some screenshots to show the problem.
Any help would be appreciated. Also, as I'm very much a Newbie to Freenas, it would be great if any suggestions are as detailed as possible.

Thanks.

Were you able to figure this out? If not, which version of Mac and which build version of FreeNAS (from System -> Information)?

The most recent versions of OS X favor SMB over AFP. I've found AFP to be unreliable on FreeNAS at the best of times on a local network. I was able to nail it down to mDNSResponder in my case. Since switching off the AFP service and using SMB connections only, it's worked perfectly fine. Apple only use AFP connections these days for Time Machine over a network.
