This is the problem where it all started: http://forums.freenas.org/showthread.php?8028-recovering-data-from-broken-freenas-8

So, now i got my data back i needed to reïnstall. The usb stick was booting fine before the reïnstallation, so the BIOS settings should be ok.

Ik reïnstalled using this howto: http://anichin.com/blog/2012/05/installing-freenas-to-usb-stick-simpler-way/

When I try to start from de USB stick the last thing that appears on screen (and won't go away):

Verifying DMI pool data .... update success
_

I'm stuck at this point... any help?

Thanks!

It seems like the boot sector of the usb stick is corrupted, how is this possible? I just wrote the image downloaded from FreeNAS, can it be corrupt? I tried 3 times.
I will now try to download an old version.

Throw out the USB stick and try a new one?

I used the same usb stick from the previous installation, it booted without any problem... I will try another stick, but I doubt that there will be any diffrence. I'll post back.

Forgot to post the result, after trying a new usb-stick the problem was solved. Strange, the same usb-stick had no problem at all booting the previous installation...
