Can you install FreeNAS to a hard drive from a USB chip instead of a CDROM?

I see instructions on how to install "burn" FreeNAS to a USB so as to boot from a USB. I would rather install to the hard drive from a USB chip. Can I do that? How?

No, you can't (shouldn't) install to a hard drive. You can however burn the image directly to USB. Refer to the manual for your freenas version for instructions.
