I have filled in all information about my domain controller and it seems to connect to it because when I attach an account, it will only save if it is an existing account in the DC and has the correct password, but the enable check-box is still grayed out. What can I do to enable it?

Did you figure this out? If not, is everything working, just the checkbox is greyed out?

Everything works, I am just not able to enable active directory because the checkbox is grayed out, and I know its is communicating with my active directory because every time I press save with an incorrect password it, it pops up with "incorrect credentials" but when I use the correct password it will save.

Do you have the latest STABLE updates applied? If so, it is worth making a bug report at bugs.freenas.org. If you do, post the issue number here.

Ok, I got that figured out but now when I try to enable and save my active directory connection, it loads for a while than says "The service failed to restart" at the top of the page.

Did you get this sorted? If not, post the relevant errors from /var/log/messages.
