I have a WD purple 1TB HD which I want to install into my NAS box, and want it to be separate from the other disks/volumes.
This HD is to hold all the cctv pictures and videos which are currently on a RAIDZ2 volume of x4 2TB disks

Of course you can ;)

You'll just don't have any redundance on this volume but if you're fine with that there is no problem.

Yes as BiduleOhm as stated. Just make sure you are adding it as a separate pool and not expanding your existing pool.

Thanks , and no I am not worried about redudancy in this case.

Where in the GUI do I actually add this disk, do I import disk, where I am told the path does not exist, even when the disk is seen, and import disk to /mnt.

Or do I import volume where no disk or volume is seen

Your going to want to use the GUI and under storage you want to create new pool and use that disk.

The said disk is a WD Purple used soley for cctv pictures and vidoes, so that data will be changing on a daily basis.

Well being as though WD say that the Purple drive is setup/optimised or whatever for cctv systems, I decided to get one and put it in my NAS box.
I must say it goes nicely with the WD Red drives and WD Green drives I already have, lol.

Well if you are in the UK or know anything about Football as we call it, you will have to decide yourself which teams have those colours, as there are plenty to pick from.
The stage is yours!
