I have a terastation hs-dtgl that is going bad. I've had it for about 6 years and a friend had it for 6 before that. I have bought all the parts and pieces except HDD for a FreeNAS box. Does anyone know if I can directly put the terastation drives in the FreeNAS box and not lose data? I can't find it anywhere online or in the FreeNAS forums. I searched first. I have 4 2TB drives in it with 4 total partitions in raid 1+0. This is my first attempt at FreeNAS. Thanks ahead of time.

You might be able to import data from those drives to a FreeNAS volume, but it is extremely unlikely that they can be used as-is because they are almost certainly not a ZFS pool.

After the data is imported, it might be possible to re-use the drives for a new FreeNAS volume.

I was able to pull the data to an external hdd and am re-using the NAs drives for the FreeNAS box I am building.
